At the time when International Festival of Photography Białystok INTERPHOTO started, in 2013 an idea of creating a new competition was born – a contest which could both promote artists from Street Photo field and give a chance to make their works closer to the public who could become a part of such photos. Wojciech Wojtkielewicz, one of the most known news photographers in our region, suggested that awarded works should be presented in the shop windows in the main street in Białystok. Since then, Lipowa Street has become a gallery and an important part of INTERPHOTO Festival and the events, happening in the streets of the world, which were stopped in the frames, found their common denominator in interaction of passers-by. This year, the artists’ works are presented in the underpass beneath the intersection of Al. Piłsudskiego and ul. Sienkiewicza.
