Limits of time

For ages we have been observing a permanent act of destructive power of the nature and passing human life, handing down own stories from generation to generation. Time of reflection or giving attention to war victims come too. Time of revival and also time of oblivion when we can find abandoned objects which can remember time of Partition or the last war because passing time is not ordered. There are many strands in the pictures taken by the members of Białostockie Towarzystwo Fotograficzne – “Passing”, “Retention – the ones who lived here” which refers to the Holocaust and its victims. “The Windmill”. The old clock- an attribute of this phenomenon or the family getting older with the house which they have been living in for years. “Dust of time” – Eliza Godlewska says so about her work – “What do a human life and objects, which a man is surrounded by, mean comparing with infinity and eternity?” And also Agnieszka Pilecka’s reflection of herself “My life. My today, yesterday and tomorrow. My memory”. We flash on the Earth like stars. Human life lasts for split seconds comparing to the universe. What do we leave here? – “ I am investigating and looking for”. Smell went away from wardrobes long time ago. I close my eyes and they are still under my eyelids. I am talking without any words. Life still lasts and I talk more and more in silence. I do not have a passport to cross the border. Stars burn down in atmosphere. Yesterday becomes today.
